Cabarete is a small town surrounded by the ocean and beaches suitable for kitesurfing. Better known as the Wind & Surf City, it is a fun and open-minded international community created mainly around one thing: watersports.
Located on the north shore of the Dominican Republic, Cabarete is in a perfect location. It is a short flight from most of the USA & Canada, and with its pretty constant wind and good weather can be an all-year destination. There are also good links to Europe from the local airport 20 minutes away!
First time? Our Beginner package is perfect for you. 9 Hours of lessons over 3-4 days and you can be up and riding.
Already riding but need a bit of support on the water. Get some supervision to help you build up confidence.

We are an International Kiteboarding School based in the Dominican Republic and provide high-quality kiteboarding lessons for you, whatever stage you are at. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to kite, our 3-Day Intensives will help. With an experienced kite instructor team and a personalised lesson plan each day, everyone can achieve their goals of learning to kite with minimal time spent practising!
Our locations are perfect for learning how to waterstart, becoming competent enough for a freestyle session or catching some waves with your surfboard. Cabarete is known for its waves, but if you like flat water, we can take you to locations for it too. There are spots for everyone in the DR.
Visiting Cabarete is great, and you will have a lot of fun kiting. However, there are some other great spots in the Dominican Republic for kiting that we recommend visiting. While Cabarete has a lot of waves, there are a number of flat water spots you can visit. We can also take you out by boat to a secret spot, so you have all the ocean to yourselves. We can also arrange downwinders if you want to get some miles in. You can go for the day or we can arrange a longer trip if you wish. Get in touch now!
Brayan is a really good IKO kite instructor. He adapts well to your learning tempo, with him you can progress fast. He was flexible: e.g. when the wind went down he explained the self rescue. He was always adapting to my daily schedule. Brayan uses professional equipment. He was grown up in Cabarete and he knows well the neighbourhood, could help me organising excursions.
