The Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) is an alternative to traditional home care services. It is a self-directed, Medicaid home care program available to eligible consumers who are in need of home care services and are capable of directing their own care.

Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program

CDPAP

(CDPAP) is a Medicaid program that allows elderly or disabled individuals to hire and direct their own caregivers, including family members or friends. This program is designed to provide flexibility and choice to individuals who need assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication management. With CDPAP, the consumer can choose their caregiver, train them, and oversee the care they receive.

Home Health Aide

PCA / HHA

HHA stands for Home Health Aide in the context of home care services in the United States. A Home Health Aide is a trained professional who provides assistance and support to individuals in their homes, helping them with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, medication reminders, and light housekeeping. The Nursing Home Transition and Diversion Waiver 

NHTD

(NHTD) is a Medicaid program that provides home and community-based services to eligible individuals who would otherwise require nursing home care. This program aims to help individuals with disabilities or chronic health conditions live independently in their own homes or community settings. Services may include personal care, skilled nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and home modifications. NHTD participants work with a care manager to develop a care plan that meets their individual needs and goals. The program is designed to be cost-effective, as it is less expensive to provide services in the community than in a nursing home.
